In the pursuit of cheap, clean energy, technogiant BoomCorp tasked their top scientists with engineering a system to harness the explosive energy of creepers. The venture proved to be a success, and development began on a novel Creeper Reactor. Construction went smoothly and there were no problems at all, with the exception of a scientist who forgot to carry a 2 somewhere in their calculations, leading to a catastrophic core meltdown the moment the reactor had power. The resulting eruption polluted the world with mutagenic creeper particles, turning entire ecosystems into fields of pissed off creeper mutants. ...Whoops. Out of mild inconvenience from the creepocalypse and out of fear of losing their end of year bonuses, BoomCorp scientists set out to reverse the fallout by developing a new reactor capable of both neutralizing the creeper radiation spilling out of their initial failed project, as well as saving their paychecks. Experimental research identified a promising lead in the form of the inherent creeper-repelling nature of cats, and with that, the Mewclear Reactor was conceived: a revolutionary new power plant with enough feline power to generate anti-creeper kitty radiation on a global scale.
